Participate
As a non-profit organisation or a school aftercare center in Africa, you care about the youths you already work with. While you are working hard to fulfill their immediate needs, you are concerned about their futures and how they will catch up on future workplace skills. You know that actively participating and contributing to the global digital economy is the only path for them to a better life.
You work hard to deliver on your current programs but you need help to access relevant equipment, training material as well as fundraising to bring future workplace skills.

We do not offer coding training programs as part of the school curriculum.
What you need to do:
To ensure the program’s success, we need your commitment on the following:
Do the marketing and recruitment to enroll at least 75 youth (15 youths and 5 classes) to attend weekly classes.
Ensure that the learner numbers remain consistent throughout the year.
Complete the monthly and annual evaluation documents.
Ensure that the computers are securely stored and kept in good running condition.
Ensure that the internet connection remains active as the learning happens online.
What we teach:
Waloyo uses existing training material:
Scratch: Designed, developed and moderated by the NPO Scratch Foundation, the training offers fun ways to learn a coding language with a simple visual interface that allows young people to create digital stories, games, and animations.
Python: Considered as one of the most popular and important programming languages in the world, Python is easy to learn and use. Python Programming language is heavily backed by Facebook, Amazon Web Services, and Google and it has a mature supportive community. The language is versatile, flexible, reliable and with various Python libraries and frameworks, it is fast to use. It is often used for natural language processing, automation, AI or machine learning applications. Learning python is often an important section in data science certification courses.
With computer equipment and access to internet in place, other skills training opportunities will be added going forward.
